Let me tell you a bit about myself. I was born and raised on Maui. In 2001 I left the islands to study in Utah. Since then, I've spent some time back home, in California, New York, and have settled down in Utah with my wife and ohana. We currently have two wonderful boys and I work for an online marketing company.
We've been preparing for a trip home for some time, and one of the important parts of our trip planning is always meals. As we've been discussing, "Where do we want to eat?" when we go home to Maui, I've been reminded of the significant role (in terms of shear pleasure and culture) that food has played and continues to play in my life. As corny as it sounds, talking about food makes me reminisce and appreciate family gatherings, good friends and fun times.
It is in the spirit of friendship and fun that I start this blog. I'll be posting recipes, and experiences at parties and restaurants with "ono kine grindz". If you've got recipes you'd like to share and or would like to contribute, please comment.
